Gosh-e-Feel ( Ear Shape Pastries)
Gosh-e-Feel ( Ear Shape Pastries) is an afghani sweet. Afghani confectionery known as “Gosh-e-Feel” is prepared by molding dough into the shape of an ear. green cardamom and caster sugar were used as decorations.
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 2.5 tsp caster sugar
- half ts. salt
- 1 cup milk
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 2½ Corn flour
Coconut Chickpeas with Winter Squash
- oil for deep frying
- 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
- ½ cup pistachios or walnuts
Method
Step 1
Beat the eggs, sugar, and salt in a sizable mixing basin until they are foamy and light. Beat while adding milk and oil.
Step 2
Blend the egg mixture well after adding 1 cup of flour. Then, while saving 1/2 cup, combine 1 cup more of the remaining flour.
Step 3
After flouring the board with the remaining 12 cups, transfer the dough there and knead it for 10 minutes, adding extra flour as necessary. The dough will have a nice shine and be a little bit sticky. Give it two hours to rest and then wrap it in plastic.
Step 4
Take a piece of dough the size of a large cherry tomato and remove it after two hours.
Step 5
Form a 312″ x 4″ flat oval by rolling. Fold one of the oval’s sides across to the other while crimping the edges together. It will have an elephant ear appearance.
Step 6
Ginger and Turmeric Noodle Soup
Make additional “ears” and fry them in batches in 350° oil. Cook until golden, then remove and drain on paper towels.
Step 7
Sprinkle it with nuts and confectioners’ sugar once it has cooled.
Step 8
Store in an airtight container or serve right away.
