KOREAN ARMY STEW (BUDAE JJIGAE):
Budae Jjigae, a famous Korean-American fusion meal, is known as Korean army stew (or army stew). It has processed meats in cans, like Spam, but also has instant ramen noodles and kimchi for a distinctively Korean flavor. Even though it isn’t food of the highest caliber, it tastes fantastic and has a fascinating history.
The economy of Korea collapsed and the country’s territory was destroyed as the Korean War came to an end in 1953. Food was in short supply, and for the next few years, a lot of people relied on United Nations and American relief assistance. The original Korean-American fusion meal, budae jjigae, was first created as a very simple stew that combined American canned goods with regional Korean ingredients. Since then, throughout Korea’s period of fast development, this army stew has grown in popularity and developed into a traditional Koranic meal.
