Korean fried rice Recipe:
This Korean fried rice recipe is packed with bacon, snow peas, and ginger and will add some heat to your main course.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp gochujang
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp caster sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 tbsp peanut oil
- 100g shortcut bacon rashers
- 1 brown onion
Korean Curry Rice Recipe
- 3 tsp finely grated fresh ginger
- 2 finely chopped garlic cloves
- 250g packets microwave white rice
- 90g kimchi
- 1 carrot
- 80g frozen peas
- 150g snow peas
- 3 green shallots
Instructions:
Step 1
In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, gochujang, sugar, and 3 teaspoons sesame oil. Set apart. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and remaining sesame oil. Season.
Step 2
A wok with two teaspoons of peanut oil heated on high. Mixture of eggs should be added. until barely cooked, scramble. Toss onto a plate. Wipe the wok clean.

Step 3
The remaining peanut oil is heated very quickly. Bacon should be stir-fried for 2 minutes, or until brown and crisp. Once added, stir-fry for 1-2 minutes, or until onion is tender. For 30 seconds or until fragrant, stir in the ginger and garlic. Put the rice, kimchi, carrot, peas, and snow peas in. Until the vegetables are crisp and crunchy, stir-fry for one minute. Insert the soy sauce mixture. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes, or until everything well-combined and the rice is warm.
Step 4
Removing from heat, whisk in the egg. Add shallots as a garnish.
Cooking Notes:
Any leftover gochujang can use as a marinade for grilled meat or shellfish, mixed with mayonnaise to make a hot dipping sauce, or used in classic Korean meals like bibimbap.
