Ingredients:
for 2 servings:
- 10 chicken wings
- 1 cup cornstarch
- oil, for frying
- sesame seed, to serve
Batter Making:
- ½ cup cornstarch
- ½ cup flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 cup water
Making Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
Spicy Korean Chicken Katsu Recipe
- 2 tablespoons gochujang
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger
Preparation:
- The batter ingredients should be combined in a bowl and blended thoroughly to prevent lumps.
- 340 degrees Fahrenheit is the temperature at which oil should be in a pot.
- A chicken wing is first dipped in cornstarch, shaken off excess, and then dredged in batter, also with excess drained off.
- Cook the wings until light golden, about 5-7 minutes per batch. By about 320°F, the oil will have cooled.
- Heat up more and drain the wings. Up to 375°F, heat the oil.
Dakgangjeong Recipe (Sweet and Crispy Korean Fried Chicken)
- Cook the wings a second time, until crispy and golden. Drain and reserve.
- All the sauce ingredients should be combined in a pan and heated through vigorous stirring. Throw the wings in.
