On times when you don’t feel like preparing a meal from scratch, have sweet and sour meatballs for dinner.When you need to get supper on the table quickly and it’s a busy weekday, this dish is your savior. I’m sure everyone has some frozen meatballs in their freezer. Just that and a delicious, juicy pineapple will do (canned pineapple can come to the rescue in a pinch).


Everything else can be changed and must already be in your pantry. Here is a meatball meal that is delicious and easy.The simplicity with which you can prepare your own homemade sweet and sour sauce will astound you. The whole family will enjoy your delicious lunch if you drizzle it over anything. With such a balance of sweet and sour flavors in each bite, the youngsters would be begging for more.

Tonight, we’re choosing pre-made meatballs purely out of sheer convenience, rather than having to spend more time in the kitchen making them from scratch. Additionally, there is nothing wrong with making your own homemade meatballs from scratch.

Ingredients for Sweet and Sour Meatballs:

To make a sweet-and-sour sauce, combine brown sugar, rice vinegar or white vinegar, tomato ketchup, soy sauce, pineapple juice, and cornstarch.For a stir-fry, you’ll need oil, pineapple, red onion, bell peppers (the more colors, the better it will seem), green onion, and frozen meatballs.

How to Make Homemade Sweet and Sour Sauce:

Simple enough. Just heat up a saucepan with the brown sugar, vinegar, tomato ketchup, soy sauce, and pineapple juice. Until the sugar has dissolved, simmer for 5 minutes. Cornstarch should be combined with two tablespoons of water, added to the sauce, and simmered for an additional two minutes to thicken. Remove it from the heat and reserve it. Sweet and Sour Meatballs Stir Fry Recipe:

We prepared this dish using homemade frozen meatballs. You can experiment with it with any meatballs you like. The recipe card below includes accurate measurements.

Here, we’ll cover the general process of making this simple meatball stir fry in an Asian style.Ensure that a wok or sizable frying pan is hot. The meatballs should cook for 4-5 minutes, or until almost cooked through, after adding the oil and flipping them occasionally.

Stir-fry for a further 4-5 minutes after adding the onion and bell peppers.A minute later, add the pineapple and continue cooking. For this dish, we like fresh pineapple chopped into chunks, but if canned pineapple is all you can find on certain days, that’s okay too. Add the previously prepared homemade sweet and sour sauce. Stir until everything is completely blended.
